Paul's love of music started at 8 when he heard the sounds of the 70's. He began running live sound for local artists out of the back of his 86' Isuzu Trooper (which, by the way, still runs!). The first incarnation of Tree Sound was built in his parent's basement, which he quickly outgrew. He then built a studio inside a local music school, where he became a teacher. When space again became an issue, Paul began his search for a new building. He happened upon an old printing plant in Norcross Georgia and through his inspired vision and unrelenting determination, Tree Sound Studios was reborn. Working in tandem with renowned studio designer George Augsperger, the design was created and implemented with artistry and precision. Since then, Paul has expanded the facility to include three unique studios and a killer live soundstage. A self proclaimed "gear hound" Paul has outfitted his studios with the best audio equipment available and is vigilant to insure the quality that is Tree Sound Studios. He is an avid adventurist and his interests include full tilt rock & ice climbing, snow boarding, white water rafting, scuba diving (with sharks, by the way!), sky diving, and he is also an expert marksman. His adventureous spirit fills Tree Sound Studios with what our clients call "the coolest vibe around". His focus is always on the music, and he is a staunch advocate of artist's rights.

Growing up in the hills of Southern Arizona on the Mexican border, Sunshine brings her rustic, "off the grid" upbringing to Tree Sound.

"My dream is to educate and spread the word of sustainable living to the world through Tree in any way that I can. After building our solar powered log cabin in the interior of Alaska and converting our home to alternative power here in N. Georgia, Paul and I plan to turn Tree into a place where people can learn not just about how to make great music. We want to share with others about how we can make a "green" difference on an individual, consumer and business level.

Be it teaching someone to recycle, planting a tree or a garden, enjoying a meal together, or fabulous music and good vibes, we all make a difference! We only need to know that there is abundance in the Wind, the Earth and Water and the Sun and this journey we call Life is precious! We must seize the moment and give it all we can. Let's follow our dreams, help others and Breathe…"

Namaste.

Dave came to Atlanta from Chicago in 1991 and soon picked up the guitar at the age of 12. Dave’s love for music began with the Blues because of the way he could feel the deep emotions of the Blues musicians as if they were his own. Dave studied classical guitar and music at KSU and Jazz theory and Marketing at GSU. But his love for recording did not come until after college. “I was listening to Miles Davis’s Bitch’s Brew; amazed by the intense transitions between different grooves. I soon found out the importance that Miles’s producer and engineer Teo Macero played in making that album move.” He learned that when recording music, there is so much more to capture than just great sound. Dave got his introduction into recording by working side by side with Atlanta producer Khalifani at 1210 Studios as an intern and session guitar player, and later as an assistant engineer at 2 High Studios. Dave then came to tree sound in May of 2008 where he continues to hone his skills and be a valuable asset to the team.

I was in bands for 17 years; anything from playing bass in heavy metal bands to playing mandolin and fronting a southern rock band to doing regular singer-songwriter gigs at the Bluebird in Nashville and Eddie's Attic in Atlanta. My musical journey took a wild turn when my air conditioning repair man convinced me to do some hip-hop sessions with a few guys named Bonecrusher, Lil John, and David Banner...the result of our chance meeting was what's now known as "Crunk Music." I’ve gone on to produce, write, mix, and play multiple instruments on major label records in several genres...from Rock, Rap and Pop, to just plain weird. Taking a chance on hip-hop years ago when a lot of people thought I was crazy ended up leading to some of the most successful years of my career; but rock music has, and always will be, where my heart is. Luckily there’s a new wave of bands coming through now that I’m really excited about. I now have a top secret underground studio called The Zone hidden in an unassuming suburb north of Atlanta. I've been doing this since before most of my clients were born...back before MIDI, before PODs, before digital ANYTHING we were cutting tape and playing songs all the way through with no click track. Below, you will be able to find out more about me and some of the artists and labels that I've worked with over the last few years. I'm always looking for new artists and projects to work on whether it's an indie band looking to release a record independently or a major label artist working on their next hit record...I'm just in to good music and great artists. period. Not bound by genres...just good music. Feel free to shoot me an email or give me a call anytime.
